john and ed...thank you so much for your help so far! you are great moderators!
i would love to hear from any massachusetts residents who know the law and wouldn't mind helping to guide me through the process of selling. as i am a law abiding citizen i do not want to go about finding this luger a new home the wrong way, and I know that massachusetts is a bit strict with their gun laws. if people are still distracted by the state hospital towels in the background of my photos, i will be happy to just take the photos down so the purpose of my thread can be better focused on rather than a bunch of old hand towels. sometimes you have to turn off the tv to get the kids to pay attention to what your saying, right? |

If the gun was registered in Massachusetts before 10/21/1998, you can sell it to a Massachusetts LTC (a.k.a. "permit") holder, fill in a state form (available from town police, asking firearm transaction form) and mail it to the address as printed on it. If the gun was not registered before that date (or buyer is not Mass resident), buyer's FFL or tranferring FFL is required. Since the buyer is FFL holder, he/she knows what to do. Either way, make sure you get the money. Law does not care that. You do. |
