I used to live in Virgina many years ago. The hunting laws were... interesting. They effectively had no bag limit on antlerless deer. There was an active "Hunters for the Hungry" program to encourage mass slaughter of deer over and above the meat needs of the individual hunter. There was a bear taunting season. There was a fish shooting season. The Big Game permit included individual tags to take at least one of about every species bigger than a breadbox. There may even have been a state law requiring every able-bodied adult male to kill some sort of animal every year. What a state!

There were some great gun shows in Richmond at the time, but this was back in the 1990s.
