Hi Bob,

Sure I will join you.

I tried about 5 years ago and traded letters with the BATF about these 1979-80's guns.

What I could figure out from letters I received from them included :

1. Certain guns that were/are on the C&R list were "petitioned" to be on the List by efforts of some collectors and possibly dealers.

2. The swiss-grip strap models and the commemoratives are on the List because someone made a good case that these guns were historically significant to collectors...versus just some "modern-day" made gun...like the S/S Luger from Aimco out of Texas.

3. The others not on the List were never inquired about/petitioned...
