Hopefully there may be someone on this forum who can give you an educated guess as to the value of this particular C96.

In the interim, if it has 32 grooves on the walnut grips, it is probably the one the Blue Book of Gun Values refers to as the "Mauser Banner Chamber Marked." The serial numbers on those ran from 84,000 to 94,000, and yours is right in that range at what looks like serial number 85108.

My copy of "The Blue Book of Gun Values" is too old (2002) to be of much help now. However, it does show these at a value of $500 for one with 60% of the finish, and these values go up to $2,700 for one with 100% of the finish. Still, this is old/dated information.

It certainly looks better than the C96 I have.
