Albert,

You have the best protection there is by using RIG and the pistol pouch. Since you have had no problems this is the answer. One suggestion to add is to make sure there is NO moisture in the pouch before storing the pistol that could effect the steel. Another item which I added is to wrap the pistol in acid free paper before putting into the pouch, but you have the right combination for proper storage.
