Dutch,
The m is part of the serial number. Each letter of the alphabet indicates an increment of 10,000. So, for example if your Luger was numbered 1234m, this would actually mean that this was the 131,234th Luger produced in 1918 (m being the 13th letter of the alphabet). This is very near the end of WWI production.
