I would say the evidence points the other way right now and that Austrian may be the source, even though a Luger magazine so marked might very well be perfectly OK in a Portuguese Luger.

Hi Vern,
I can only rely on what the experts have to say, but I've been perplexed by there being two groups of experts with different opinions. So I'm just trying to make each group aware of the other in the hopes it will generate a discussion that will bring out the pros and cons of each theory.
