That sideplate is pretty scratched up, isn't it? Looks like someone took the ol' purple Scotch-Brite to her. I'm looking at the rear toggle link and wondering why it's lighter finish than the other link, or the frame. The exposed tip of the locking pin for the center toggle pin is in the white (proper, yes?).
I think this one started out as an Artie (note relieved top of barrel extension for Artillery model rear sight) and my guess the barrel was swapped out officially in 1920.
I should probably know what that butterfly proof is, so must look that one up. because I don't.
The witness marks are not lined up, or are they?
