Feedback on 1936 SS42 Luger Please

Hi folks -

I bumped into the below 1936 SS42 P08 just earlier today. Would like feedback on condition, if it all looks correct, and suggestion on a price. All visible small parts matched to the SN 2947, I read the suffix as p but let me know if you read it differently.

The store clerk said they got it on consignment but have not priced it yet (owner is out of town, and the seller does not know what to put on it, so there is a delay...:-).

Thank you in advance!

Ask to dissemble to make sure it's all matching. It's seen some miles, pics are a little dark. I think it's in the neighborhood of $1500.

I'd say maybe as much as $2,000 if there is an original holster to go with it, but I assume the O.P. would have indicated that if a holster was going with the pistol.

Thank you! No holster, or anything else with it, just the pistol.

Good suggestion to disassemble, I will see if the store employees would let me do it...

Aside from the matching #s, anything else I should look more closely into? Bore was ok - not pristine but no pitting or rust, just some deterioration typical for the age and use of the firearm.

Trigger felt nice (I pulled it several times at cocked position to feel the sprint - seemed normal w/o any concerns), the pistol was not rattling, I did not noticed any mechanical concerns...

Look carefully to see if there is any pitting or rust that is underneath the bluing. That would indicate a refinish and would drop the value considerably.
