Martz Carbine Question...

Is it okay with the BATF to own a Martz carbine...made from an earlier Luger ?

Ron Wood 02-12-2005 11:38 PM

Yep, as far as I know. I am pretty sure that his carbines that were not carbines to begin with have a 16" barrel. He has also made at least one pretty neat P38 carbine.

Pete, As long as they have a 16" barrel and are 28" overall in length, thay are legal.

Ron

Quickdraw Wood, does it again!

I was wondering about the removable stock...?

Edward Tinker 02-12-2005 11:58 PM

It its barrel is over 16 inches (changed to be right :D), it doesn't matter, it is classified as a rifle?

Ron Wood 02-13-2005 12:12 AM

Removable stock is no problem. The 16" barrel takes it out of the short barreled rifle category, therefore legal.

Barrel length needs to be at least 16"
O.L. length needs to be at least 26"
to avoid NFA purview as an SBR

...yep!
