Odds are 99.999999% it's a scam and the cashier's check is bogus. I've been offered the same sort of thing selling a fairly valuable calculator. They are really after the refund you are supposed to send them and probably couldn't care less where the pistol ends up.

It's a variation on the Nigerian scam but these days the Nigerian scam and its varients will often use addresses outside Nigeria. I suspect other scam artists are copying the Nigerians.

I passed on the offer and sold my calculator to a legitimate buyer.
