Interestingly enough, Pinneberg lies centrally between the two German main ports of Bremen and Kiel.

In the meantime, I discovered another problem with the KÃ?Â¼stenfliegergruppe designation of KÃ?Â¼. It appears that in the time the guns were being produced (we agree upon the 1941-1945 timeframe), most if not all KÃ?Â¼stenfliegergruppen were renamed or disbanded.

KÃ?Â¼strin, btw, shows no sign of being a Luftwaffe depot area, as John D. pointed out. It has a small artillery garrison, primarily because it was a border town at the Oder, near Poland. Putting a part of the luftwaffe supply chain in KÃ?Â¼strin would be foolish, even for Adolf's idiots.

The town was split up after the war and the town centre was never rebuilt. Part of the town became Polish property (Kostrzyn nad Odr) and only a small part became a German village, in DDR land.

The town was fought over pretty fiercely in 1945 and almost completely destroyed.
