I don't think the jacket is brass.

It is just an alloy of copper that looks like brass, but it isn't brass.

Brass Jacketed ammo falls into the category of armor piercing pistol ammo.


Do you remember the infamous "cop-killer" ammo?

It was a brass jacketed, teflon coated ball ammo that zipped right through soft body ammo. It was never available to the public, but it did result in laws controlling bullet jacket material..i.e. no brass or steel jacket pistol ammo allowed.
