Hi Jon, if you are going to use it as a shooter, then I would consider a Mauser, because of the material quality. You will probably pay about the same price for a post war 1970's Mauser as you would for a WW2 version. I would opt for the WW2 variety because of it's historical value! My 2�¢'s worth.
