I was on a website the other day that stated the strawing temperature for the stainless steels is around 700 F. About 200 degrees higher than that of regular steel. This was not a gunsmithing site, but an automotive site talking about the discoloration of stainless exhaust headers. __________________ Carpe Diem, Parabellum
