If your trigger requires 10 - 12 pounds pressure to fire the pistol, something is terribly wrong. There are several things that could cause it. One is the L-arm that connects the trigger to the disconnector pin. If the top of the L-arm isn't pushing the pin inward enough to release the firing pin without excessive pressure on the trigger, try a layer or two of masking tape on the top of the lower end of the L-arm. That will allow the upper end to depress the disconnector pin more and release the firing pin sooner. Do not try to bend the L-arm as it is brittle and will break.
