Bob, If this luger fit into the 1937 PO8 hoster, it's quite likely (or at least the double C/M marked receiver is) a 1917 Navy that has had its 6" barrel cut down to 4". This was a common practice during the Weimar, post WW1 period. Probably the Naval rear sight was also changed to a standard PO8 rear toggle. If all matching, this could be an interesting example of a Weimar rework, particularly if with grip strap markings. TH
