I have found that the best solution when you return from a gun show with a new "treasure" is to leave it in the truck and saunter into the house to observe what SHE is up to at the moment. If SHE is preoccupied and doesn't ask "what did you buy this time?", then you can go get it and sneak it into your safe. If SHE ever does ask later, just say ; "oh I just picked up a few odds and ends"


The only problem with this approach is that after a few trips of "picking up odds & ends", SHE becomes suspicious and will make it a point to ask "well did you buy a gun?" EVERY TIME!
