im guessing its not original finish but that is a guess.
here is a link to a site that sells ebooks about lugers for 7.95 u could buy a dwm one and it would go into great detail about your gun.
dwm has been around a long time and their is a lot of history on them . I read somewhere dwm (or was it mauser?) was absorbed by anheiser busch.

Nice pistol and a great piece of history. BTW, did you ever go by the handle "chrome dome"?
