The containers for steel cased 9x19 rounds also carried a warning label, warning for possible stuck cases in the chamber of the P08.
Mauser eventually developed a special reamer that would allow a gunsmith in the field to remove the step in the chamber of the P08. Mauser P08 pistols were reinforced to allow for the extra impact of the newer, slightly hotter, 9mm loads also. There is no difference in ammunition for P08 pistols of one pistol manufacturer or the other. The round was known as the 'Pistolenpatrone 08' and all guns that were chambered for it would be able to fire the rounds, although there were some warnings issued here and there. |
