ed tinker compiles nice data and stories for his publications..it is stories that are documented that are the core of his sharing with us even more history of the weapons we all love and appreciate..

Looks to me you have a very nice 1939 S/42 that most collectors would be proud to own. The pluses are: 1) Matching magazine. 2) Not a lot of 1939 S/42 produced. 3) Sear safety (Police) makes it even rarer. 4) It is a family gun from your dad.

Thanks for all the replies! Unfortunately, my dad received this in trade for rent when he was renting out a room in his house in the 70's. The guy got it from his grandfather, but no other story other than that.
