Default Re: Patina???

Sam,

There is a product named RB-17, that I have purchased at gun shows. It will remove rust without harming the bluing. it is applied with fine (000 or 0000) steel wool. I have used this on old Colts, Winchesters & Lugers. It works great, in fact bluing that you didn't know was there will show up! I bought a Luger that was covered with a "patina" of rust. Upon applying the RB-17 treatment, it turned out that I had about 70% of the original rust bluing left on the gun, and it was in much better shape than I or the seller thought it was. I am not selling this product, but use and recommend it.
