Front sight difference ?

George,

Any idea why the front sight would have to be higher? As far as I can tell, there is no change in the operation of the gun except for holding the toggle open. The rear sight doesn't change, and the relationship of the slide to the frame doesn't change?

Really curious of the logic behind this sight replacement

I had been compairing the sights on pics. but could not see any difference, and was not sure if it had been replaced on my 1909.
But with this information and closer look I found the acceptance mark on the sight base.
