Gentlemen all...George is intirely correct. It is as original as you will see out there. The Police and the Luftwaffe were not under the same tight restrictions the Army were.
The maker, date and Police acceptance mark are correct.
The stitching is perfect throughout. The magazine pouch has the tight flat profile that repro's do not have.
The top.. seen from the back is tight to the sides. Most repro's are flared.
On the back on the left edge about an inch and a half from the bottom of the mag pouch is a start stop. You can see it where the stitching is backstitched or bunched up. The German Saddler stopped here and went to another portion of the holster. Later to come back and continue stitching the holster body closed. This is seen on most original Luger holsters.

Take a look at the closure stud in the top. It is a greyish color, nice patina. This late they were made of a zink material rather than the earlier steel.

The lifting strap knot is nicely tied...

The stitching is fairly heavy but normal for this late..Seems they used a thick thread late in the war.


A very nice example of the German Saddlers art here....

In short.... is has none of the repro charecteristics other than it is in pretty good shape.

I would bet the inside is pretty!
