John, I use the Dem Bart from Brownells. Just recently splurged and bought the Carbide spacer and cutters. The carbide spacer tool is great, the others have some "chatter" to them as they are coarse. I use them for the first pass and then finish up with the Dem Bart "fine" cutter. I would recommend the Dem Bart or Brownells for a beginner, and would get a coarse and fine single cutter.
