Well, after I diagnosed that I was experiencing a short recoil issue an mentioned above, I decided that either the ammo was too weak or the mainspring too strong! Trying to balance the two is kind of like Goldilocks and the three bears on crack! The weak springs too weak, the strong springs too strong! I got the best results with a little hotter ammo. Even though it worked better, I could always make the WW target/range ammo work out before. After my third trip to the range, with the same results, I decided to sit tight until my order of Wolff standard 38# springs arrived. They showed up yesterday and I installed them into my two customers problem guns, and off to the range I went. The Lugers performed perfectly!
Whether I want to believe it myself, or not, the Wolff standard spring was a perfect balance for the WW target / range offering! For total reliability, (full travel) use the new WW TARGET load that is shown at 1300 fps... With the new spring, I think the luger is up to it, although, I don't know the down the road effect it will have on the gun? Might be too much. Best to all, til....lat'r...GT
