Hello,
You know that the articles written in 1969 by Mr. Jan STEVENSON in the Gunfacts magazine are a must for all the Mauser Parabellum collectors. I am very pleased to have the complete original series. These articles describe all the details of the Mauser Parabellum production with pictures that is very difficult to find in later articles. Mr. STEVENSON visited the Mauser Parabellum firm in Oberndorf just at the beginning of the production in 1969. I was wondering how he was able to describe the details of all the methodologies of development; how many hours per pistol, how many machinery per pistol, which Swiss Jigs and gauges were possible to reuse and which not and so on: a real photo of the Mauser Parabellum producing issues. Now I have the answer. I was able to buy one of the internal Mauser copies of the articles written by Mauser in cooperation with Mr. STEVENSON. As you can see the STEVENSONâ??S articles are the exact translation into English of the original Mauser manuscript. I guess Mauser worked on these articles mainly for marketing purposes to let the USA customers know about the actual effort and the relevant quality it was necessary implement to build again the Parabellum. Now an interesting note. In fact, in one of the articles Mr. STEVENSON wrote that under French control Mauser made around 5000 P08 (and now we know few LP08). Actually, according to Mr. Weiss, in charge of the Parabellum production, we know that the production was 3098. Note that in the Mauser Internal Manuscript the number has been manually amended with the correct one in the correct period (Jun 45 â?? Apr 46). Thank you to Mauser and Mr. STEVENSON today we have a source of information really complete about the fist months of the Parabellum production. As Mauser Parabellum collector, I really think this internal Mauser manuscript an interesting found. Let me know your opinion. Ciao Mauro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Mauser Manuscrit has 45 pages. Hereafter some pages concerning the Mauser Parabellum production and serial numbering. ![]() ![]() ![]()
