Post Unknown Reproduction Magazine?

Can anyone identify the manufacturer of this modern reproduction Luger magazine?

The Mag bottom mimics the Navy type but is made of black plastic. The body appears to one solid piece of formed sheet metal tube with no folds.

Is it Triple-K? or Mec-gar? or something else?

thanks.

John, I think that it is an old Mec Gar they did not have their name stamped on them. I have a few that are satin nickel.

I have seen a few repro mags, but I dont remember the button being checkered on any of them. The ones I have seen had buttons with circles instead, unless they were origionals. Not saying I have any idea what this is, just letting you all know what I have seen.

Thumbs up

I'm sitting here holding My New Mec-Gar up to the screen and I can find no difference in appearance with the exception of no "MADE IN ITALY",and no "MEC-GAR" with symbols.
Its an old Mec-Gar allright!

JS, I agree with the above. Definately made in Italy by Mec-Gar. It's interesting that they are located in the same city as Beretta. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some common ownership, with MG being a separate corp to be able to sell mags to most all of Beretta's competitors. TH

Just out of curiosity, why is it that a lot of the repo mags are only made to hold seven rounds? (I know the internal parts and the bottoms are different. I mean, wonder why they didnt make it hold eight, cost, ease of production, what?)

Adam, to the best of my knowledge, the only modern reproduction mags that hold 7 rounds are the Triple-K type. They are good mags, but are made to be functional, not identical to the originals.

The Mec-Gar repros hold 8 rounds, and are much closer to original construction. They also normally cost a bit more than the Triple-K mags.

John, Thanks for the info. Apparently all the mags I have purchased are Triple-K. I have two with black plastic bottoms and one with nice dark walnut. They all work remarkably well, but as mentioned, limited to 7 rounds each. I need to look into getting a Mec-Gar or two.
