Hello Adam,

You might chase down a pair of VOPO grips...

These are much thinner than your ivory-like grips and have the same feel in the hand as wooden grips. Some of us who have shooter lugers with their original wooden grips, use the VOPO's at the range so we do not add any wear/tear to the wooden grips.

VOPO's can be had for around $ 25.00- 45.00 per pair and pop up on e-Bay from time to time. Luger Forum member Lugerdoc (aka Tom Heller) sells them as well. He is listed in our Links & Resources section...
